چکیده

Nakagami fading model is widely adopted for analyzing wireless communication systems and diversity combining techniques, hence the ability to generate Nakagami fading signals with arbitrary parameters is important for system design and simulations. In the literature, there are only algorithms for generating correlated Nakagami branches with the same fading parameter. In this paper, we adopt a novel approach to generate Nakagami fading signals with arbitrary fading parameters and any correlation structure. The correlated Nakagami fading variables are generated from the corresponding uncorrelated Gamma random variables (RVs). To achieve this, we propose a new decomposition method, and introduce Sim’s method as a complementary approach, to generate correlated Gamma RVs. The former is an approximate approach but can deal with any general correlation structures efficiently, while the latter is exact but has some constraints.

Generation of Nakagami Fading Signals with Arbitrary Correlation and Fading Parameters

Mobile radio channel simulators are essential for repeatable system tests in the development, design, or test laboratory. Field tests in a mobile environment are considerably more expensive and may require permission from regulatory authorities. Because of the random, uncontrollable nature of the mobile propagation path, it is difficult to generate repeatable field test results. The Nakagami mo...

Performance of Dual MRC Receiver for M-ary Modulations over Correlated Nakagami-m Fading Channels with Non-identical and Arbitrary Fading Parameter

Performance of a dual maximal ratio combining receiver has been analyzed for M-ary coherent and non-coherent modulations over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels with nonidentical and arbitrary fading parameter. The classical probability density function (PDF) based approach is used for analysis. Expressions for outage probability and average symbol error performance for M-ary coherent and no...

Performance of maximal-ratio diversity systems in a correlated Nakagami-fading environment

The bit error rate (BER) performance of an M branch maximal-ratio combiner (MRC) for the detection of signals in a correlated Nakagami-fading channel is analyzed. Coherent and incoherent detection of frequency shift-keying (FSK) and phase-shift keying (PSK) signals are considered. It is assumed that the fading parameters in each diversity branch are identical. The effect of correlation is studi...

Performance analysis of SIR-based dual selection diversity over correlated Nakagami-m fading channels

Signal-to-interference-ratio (SIR)-based selection diversity is an efficient technique to mitigate fading and cochannel interference in wireless communications systems. In this paper, an approach to the performance analysis of dual SIR-based selection diversity over correlated Nakagamifading channels with arbitrary parameters is presented. Useful formulae for the outage probability, the average...
